Andy is one of the best defensive shooting instructors in that area of the country, but it was Julie — an up-and-coming defensive tactics instructor of considerable talent and from whom you will be hearing more — who forced me to change my mind.
...Here's where my mind really got changed: when I travel and can't be armed with a gun (or with the Kubaton-like device to which my keys are attached) I rely on my longish two-AA cell flashlight to serve that role (as well as the other roles mentioned above.)
...After thinking about what Julie said, and realizing that my Kubaton-keychain (missing, remember, because it wasn't TSA compliant) is normally carried in my waistband in what would be a left-hand appendix position, I simply pulled the light out of my pocket and clipped it into that empty spot.
